Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is one of the security systems that is considered the best way to protect user accounts on the internet.

2TFA itself is a security system that requires two types of authentication by its users. If the user usually just logs in by entering his email and password, then with 2FA there is another verification code which is usually sent via a cellphone number to be able to enter the account.

For that Google will require many users to use the 2FA system. Google itself has announced this plan a few months ago.

Google announced that by the end of 2021 they will register as many as 150 million Google users to have the 2FA system enabled by default so they will inevitably have to use it.

Google states that the best way to maintain security and convenience for its users is to enable security protection by default. Google has started configuring its users' accounts automatically to a more secure state. Quoted from Ubergizmo, Monday (11/10/2021).

By the end of 2021, Google reportedly needs 2 million YouTube creators to activate it. Google also plans to automatically enable additions in 2SV for its 150 million users

Google admits that while the 2FA system is a good form of protection, they also note that it's not the most convenient or the most suitable.

As such, they are looking for a way to provide an alternative login solution in the future that reduces dependence on passwords.
