WhatsApp has talked a lot about new features to its messaging app to maximize the service for users. One of them is the ability to add 512 members in a group. Reported by News18, the option is available to users of the WhatsApp version on Android and iOS devices.

The news was first known to WAbetainfo, where a group admin can have as many as 512 members in the same group. Previously, WhatsApp allowed groups to only have 256 members, but the number has now doubled.

The ability to create larger WhatsApp groups has arrived in WhatsApp Beta version 2.22.12.10 on Android and version 22.12.0.70 on iOS. If you are a Beta program user, don't worry because this feature will also be rolled out to the stable version of WhatsApp. The process for adding 512 members to a group is the same as before.

WhatsApp has lagged behind other apps with some great features. Telegram, for example, has given the option to add about 200 thousand members to one group. The messaging platform provides a large file transfer service, a function that WhatsApp has also introduced with support for 2GB file transfer.

WhatsApp has also increased the capacity for the number of members in one group video call to up to 32 people. The company just released a reaction feature embedded into chats so users can instantly share a heart, smile or laugh emoji, instead of sending the emoji separately to other users.(*)
