The technology industry is becoming more promising with the development of artificial intelligence (AI). Meta, one of the technology companies, recently launched a new AI called the Large Language Model Meta AI (LLaMA) on Friday, February 24th, 2023.

LLaMA is an AI with a generative language or text model that can generate sentence predictions, summarize text information, and write articles accurately and precisely.

Unlike LLaMA, ChatGPT owned by OpenAI and Bard owned by Google were launched earlier as AI-based chatbots that can interact with users in sophisticated conversation. When users send questions or commands in text form, ChatGPT provides answers with good and flexible word structure. For example, if you ask ChatGPT to make a poem with the theme of friendship, ChatGPT will provide an amazing answer.

LLaMA and ChatGPT have different concepts, although both utilize AI technology. If you are looking for a chatbot for interactive conversation, ChatGPT may be the right choice. However, if you need an AI that can assist in writing articles or summarizing text information, then LLaMA might be the right choice for you.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced through his personal Facebook account that LLaMA was released as a tool for researchers and experts to explore the language capacity used.

LLaMA has shown its ability to generate text, conduct conversations, summarize written material, and more complex tasks such as solving mathematical theorems or predicting protein structures.

LLaMA is released non-commercially for research institutions, campuses, NGOs, and industrial laboratories. This AI product consists of 4 different models, each with different capacities and parameter numbers. Meta has stated that LLaMA consumes little computational load, making it easily accessible to researchers who do not have access to supercomputers.

LLaMA can answer questions with sentences that appear as if written by humans. This AI product has even been trained using 20 languages that focus on the Latin and Cyrillic alphabets. The OPT-175B large language model released by Meta in May 2021 is also intended for researchers and serves as the basis for the creation of the BlenderBot chatbot.

In addition, Meta has also introduced an AI model named Galactica, which can write scientific articles and solve mathematical problems. However, the company withdrew the model demo after producing fake responses and citing non-existent research. In the statement, Meta explained that LLaMA was intentionally released non-commercially for research institutions, campuses, NGOs, and industrial laboratories.
