Google Launches Women Founders Fund Program for Female AI Startups in Asia

Google has announced the Google for Startups Women Founders Fund, an initiative aimed at supporting female founders of startups in the Asia-Pacific region, focusing on artificial intelligence (AI).

This program will provide non-equity funding worth US$100,000 (approximately Rp 1.5 billion) to six startups founded by women this year.

Equality in AI Product Development for a Fairer World

The initiative aims to level the playing field for female startup founders who want to build AI products that promote fairness in the world. Google believes that an increase in AI businesses founded by women in Asia, particularly in India, Japan, and South Korea, will have a positive impact on the technology and AI industry.

Google selected India, Japan, and South Korea due to the significant potential for AI businesses founded by women in these countries. Programs like Google for Startup Campuses in Japan and Korea, as well as Startup School in India, have mentored over 14,000 aspiring entrepreneurs in the previous year, demonstrating Google's commitment to seeking talent and potential in these regions.

More than Just Funding, Specialized and Technical Support from Google Experts

In addition to the non-equity funding, recipients of the Women Founders Fund program will receive specialized guidance and technical support from Google experts. This valuable support will empower female founders to develop their businesses and strengthen the AI startup ecosystem in Asia.
